According to Wargaming, they are replacing the battleship commander skill “Dead Eye” with “Swift and Silence” which will increase cruisers survivability. The Texas is not one of these though as its secondaries are mounted low and point only outwards.Cruisers are about to get a strange buff. On many ships, secondary batteries also double as anti-aircraft batteries so that by enhancing them you also enhance your anti-aircraft rating. There are certain modules and skills that enhance secondary battery capability if you want to turn your ship into a close-in brawler (usually only done with the German battleship line but you can have some success with the American line too). Now, click the small box beside the secondary battery listing and it will zoom in on one of these guns. ![]() In port, select your Texas and then click "Artillery," you will see a drop-down box showing that it has a half-dozen 127 mm secondary battery guns. The purpose of secondaries is to have smaller, more rapidly-firing guns to fend off close-in attacks. This is because the largest weapons they mount are the same size as the secondary batteries on larger ships. Smaller ships don't have secondary batteries, just main batteries and anti-aircraft guns.
